It was time to upgrade my router table. I thought about building one, but, thank goodness, I’m about 9 months behind on work. I ‘stepped up’, and decided to get the Jessem master router table, with the master fence, and miter slide. It has the lift with micro-adjuster built in, and the lift control is right on the front of the underside of the table. I’ve been using it for a month now, just about every day, and it’s awesome. They really have thought of everything. I was worried that after getting it, I would not think it was worth the hefty price tag for all the components, and the stand, but it really is. All bit changes are made ABOVE the table because my PC 7518 motor fits right into the lift, all the way up with the collet nuts completely above the table. The miter slide locks perpendicular to the fence, so set up for doors, or any other end grain cut, is a snap. It can also be set to any angle you need.
Also, the instructions for assembly were well written, and it took me about 1 1/2 hours to assemble it all, including the stand, and calibrating everything. I’ll take some pics and post tomorrow.
I bought it hoping that it would be my last router table, and it definately is.

Oh, I got one of these as well - its my first router table, and its sweet - though I haven't stepped up to the miter slide (I'm, still learning).
I have hooked up both parts of the dust collector, and will get around to adding some bit drawers.
One thing I did is I made a mechanical speed control. I pick up a choke control cable at an autoparts store and hooked the far end to the speed control switch on the router, with the outer part of the cable held by a little aluminum bracket I made.
Now I can adjust the speed of the router without having to access the router directly.

I replaced a meleamine faced top and Icra fence with the JessEm top, fence and slide unit; I like it much better. JessEm stuff is made from more solid extrusions and adjusts very smoothly. It also is less complex then the Incra. Have heard some negitives on their table saw miter gauge though. Like your speed control set-up. KDMKenneth Duke Masters

Yeah, I feel a bit guilty, but I decided a while ago to buy the best I could reasonably afford when it comes to tools, and I have a job where I get paid basically once a year, so I need to keep reminding myself why I wake up in the morning....
