I am considering purchasing a new Powermatic 3520B lathe. Anyone have experiences, good or bad, with this machine?

Get it and I'll trade my Old Walker-Turner for it ;-)
I just watched the DVD promotional on this lathe, Done by Ernie Conover. I sure would like it. The 2 speed ranges( variable ) DC make it over the top for me. Sorry, but no hands on experiance. Another great feature is the optional 18" Bed extension that can be set low for turning bowls. Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

Just bought one in Jan. Really like the sliding headstock. Remove tailstock and slide it to the end for bowls. Solid well built and with a 5 year warranty.
Blank for this bowl was over 200 lbs. (green red oak).

thanks, just bought one last friday and have only had time to set it up, not to turn anything on it yet. I just completed an new shop, about 3 times the size of my last at 1000 sq ft and cant wait to try it out. the pictures you attached give me confidence that i bought the right piece of equipment as bowl turning is what i am most interested in. Did you start off really slow to round it out?
My blank was close to round. Started at 350 and went up to 500 rpm for ruff out. Waiting for it to dry.....
Now that is a proper Chips or popcorn bowl ;-)
Lucky you, I've seen the DVD done by Ernie Conover about that lathe, great choice !Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!
