I was about to take the plunge and buy a Leigh dovetail jig. Then I heard that that PC had revamped the omnijig (new version to come out in April). Does anybody have information on the updated omnijig? Is it woth waiting for? (I am not in a particular hurry)

Since you are in no particular rush, why not wait until there is some user experience for you to make a better determination? No need for you to be first!
Nothing like lots of users to surface any product flaws.

P-C took out a two page ad for the new Omnijig in the back of the April issue of FWW. I read on some website that it was suppose to come out in Feb 2007, but none of my tool dealers have seen it yet. They said it was designed to take on the Leigh. That is why they came out with the 4212 to have a production dovetail jig and the Omnijig for variable pins and tails. I like the 4212 so the 55160 might be worth waiting for if you have the time.
Love my Leigh 24d. Been using it in my busy cabinet shop for the past 12 years ( about 1-2 days a month ). Not one problem, and the dovetails it cuts look just like they were done by hand ( I know, I know ). Seriously, it has been a good jig.
