Rather than post this on the Gallery, I wanted to post it here because the main story is how helpful Knots posters are.
I wanted to make a really nice router cabinet. I had been using one of those $100 PC desktop and a Craftsman standing rauter table. On a scale of 1 to 10 the Craftsman was a 3 and the PC was a 4.
I posted on Knots requesting suggestions and/or pictures of router cabinets. I was well aware of Norm A’s cabinet but wanted something with a little more substance.
My good friend BM aka Questtools came to the rescue. He not only provided really good photos’ but great detail and measurements. He told me what he liked about his and what changes he would recommend.
The cabinet you see in the attachment is made with oak. The case and the drawer fronts on the upper drawers and router chamber cover is oak ply. The top, fence, and lift is Jessum. he router is the PC 7518(3 1/4)
Thanks Questools

So sorry. I should hav checked the third pic. The "real" 3rd cabinet pic. is attached.
Beautiful and useful, coolbreeze! Congrats!I believe that you can edit your 3rd picture into your original post and edit out the erroneous one. Viewers might be pleased by that. Thanxx!!Cadiddlehopper
Cadiddlehopper,
Thanks for the tip. I did edit out the attachment that I inadvertently attached. I could not add the other in by attachment. Did I miss something?
Maybe folks will not tar and feather me now by haveing to open the third attachment in my second post.
Nice. Care to share any more of the details? perhaps what joinery you used? and why the false drawer front instead of a door?
Not sure what details you would be interested in but I will provide some info you may want.
The case is basic, I used dado and rabbet joinery. Since it is a work piece and not furniture for the home, I did not use dovetails. I originally was going to make the cabinet out of some nice Honduran pine, but I could not get a satisfactory mgrain pattern match, so I abandoned that idea and decided I would make it out of oak.
The case is all oak plywood while the bases mold and the four bottom drawer fronts are solid oak (salvaged from Katrina), The drawer faces for the uppper drawer and the router compartment cover are made from oak plywood with solid frame for edge treatment.
My original intention was to hinge the "cover/door" for the router compartment, but since I did not use face frame, full opening would have to be dealt with. I finally used rare earth magnets as just an experiment. You will see them if you look closely to the opening. If I find myself opening that compartment a lot, I may go back to hinges.
The case is supported with a 7/8 base frame of poplar. The base trim is only 2" to conserve space.
The works are all Jessum and PC. The top, with the PC 7518 in the Mast_R_lift is quite heavy but I used 1" corner braces carefully dirlled into the phenolic top to secure it. I am quite happy with the new playpurdy
Well done, very nice piece of work. Makes me want to get my own done. (Two years and still piddling) Some of that store bought stuff is nice. I'm sure it works as well as it looks.
Wow, that is a nice cabinet. I just got though using my Wood Pecker table with wobbly legs. I have got to replace it. It is going to end up getting me hurt one of these days. Thanks for inspiring me to start that project.
You made a really nice piece there. Smart putting the wheels on it. I added that to the plans I got. Nice finish job.
If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Thanks for the complement, bones.
Regarding to your quote, I have alsoys said that the government thinks there is nothing that can't be fixed by using your money.

I would agree with you except I don't think they see it as your money. And to be honest, it won't be long before they help you lighten your burden! Take care.
Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
