Note: The Administrator was kind enough to let me post this new demo of the bandsaw brake in an earlier post, which I can no longer find. This seems to be a more appropriate place to post it. The link goes to another wood working site on FB, and not to my personal OneDrive as in the previous post, which was my bad. The demo is just to make aware that there is an easily installed bandsaw brake available. The brake is not for sale. The intent is to gauge if there is enough interest in it to move it forward. I know there are many bandsaw users that wish they had a brake. It’s a great demo, enjoy.

Do you know what the Brand name is........
Hi Jim,
Thanks for your interest. I make the brake myself. I’m considering patenting it, but am trying to decide if there’s enough of a market for it to make it worthwhile. I’ve had one on my Rikon 10” and Craftsman 14” for over a year now, and I love them. They make using the bandsaw much more enjoyable, efficient and safer. I’ve had two other bandsaw owners install them on their 14” bandsaws(Powermatic & Rikon) and they love it too. It’s such a simple design, I don’t know why it hasn’t been introduced before. If you’d liked to discuss getting one then email me at wlbrook@sbcglobal.net.
Thanks again for your interest,
Bill
Bill,
As someone that has gone down the patent path, (I have 3 utility patents) I'd advise you to look at the rules regarding public disclosure before too much toothpaste is out of the tube.
Thanks for the advice, duly noted!
I would buy one
I've taken out the link. Folks, don't share download links. Folks, don't click on download links. If someone wants to share a video there are plenty of video hosting sites to share the actual video. I took this post down once for looking spammy and/or phishy.
Also, y'all are braver than me for clicking on that. And yes, the line to get a post taken down is in fact "Does Ben find this sketchy?" Gotta draw the line somewhere.
Where do you even get one?
Hi J19,
I make them myself, so they are not available on the market, yet. I appreciate your interest though, and I know anyone tired of waiting for their bandsaw blade to stop will love it. It looks like the video link I had was removed by management (my bad). If you would like me to email you the link then contact me at, wlbrook@sbcglobal.net. Cheers!
Post a youtube link and you're all good. One drive and dropbox links could lead to bad stuff. Thanks.
Can you post a picture of what’s inside the door ?
I’m working on a site where I can post whatever I want with no restrictions. I’ll advise when/where that is when completed. Thanks for your patience.
You don’t need a site to post a picture, just a picture loaded as an attachment that is less than 3MB .
