I’ve been using the Stots push stick:

But I’m wondering about this one from Bench Dog:

Anyone used it? Is it a real improvement?

I have a similar push stick from Leichtung (remember them?) with a rubber replaceable pad. It works OK, but I feel like the GRRipper (by In-Line Industries, I believe) is worth the extra money. It is safer and gives more control for a better cut. It can even cut narrower stock than those others.

I second Cajun Dan's comments regarding the Grippper. Takes a little getting used to using. But, the learning curve and adjustment is very simple. Once start using, you will see more and more ways to use it for your safety an accuracy.

I'll ditto the Grr-Ripper system. Very unique in that you strattle the blade with the rubber pads, you'll also realize that you have much more controll of the material and do they ever grip. Not much worry about the material slipping "underfoot". Yes they are pricey, But less than a visit to the ER.

Here's another fan of the GRRipper. After getting 22 stitches in my hand and three weeks out of the shop, I realized I needed something better than the push stick that got shot into my hand at 150 mph. The first GRRipper was such an improvement, I bought a second one for the leap-frog method. Buy the DVD; it's worth it.
My vote is also for the GR-Ripper!
