Is there anyone who has real experience with the new Ridgid aka Home Depot/Emerson TS3612 Table Saw? It has a nice base, and they claim to have dealt with many of the previous problems with the 2424 model. Is it an option? I know it is not a cabinet saw, but is there anyone who has actually used it?
Many thanks,
FSC

Derry,
A friend of mine has one and he really likes it. Can't say I'd want to have to use it every day, but it seems on par with most contractor's saws. It does have as little vibration as they claim in their ads. Nice fence system. Probably not enough power for 8/4 stock. If you were to work with sheet goods you'd need to jury rig some table extensions.

I bought the TS3612 this weekend with the 10% off coupon that HD has if you bring in an old tool. I would have liked to get the Grizzly 1023 but I could not justify the cost, I think this is the next best saw for less money. The saw received good reviews in American Woodworker and Wood (TS2424). I think they fixed most of the shortcomings of the TS2424. I wish it came with dust collection. Although I haven't cut much wood on it yet I am impressed with how smooth it is. Also much less noise then my old saw. The fit and finish is excellent and alignment is easy, but it takes awhile to put it together. So far I am very happy with it.
