Hi all, I just wanted to give some backgurond on me. I have been a woodworking teacher for 33 years and have loved woodworking all my life. I’m retiring after this year and will be a woodworker. I just built my dream shop, 30″ x 36′ and 12′ walls. Needless to say, I want to milk all the knowledge and expertise from my fellow woodworkers that I can.

Ken,
Welcome to the forum! I'm sure that with 33 years of teaching experience, you'll be bringing us more that we can possibly give back. I really envy your shop. I work in my basement where there just isn't enough room. Perhaps you might post a picture or two for the rest of us to drool over.
Jeff
Ken, After 33 years of teaching the subject, most of the milk being exchanged should be going in the other direction to the one you mention, and if not, I'd like to know what you've been up to for the last thirty odd years?
Presumably, your tongue was as deeply buried in your cheek when you introduced yourself as my tongue is deeply buried in mine? Welcome. Slainte.

Hi Ken,
Just a few rules to start you off.
1. NO BRAGGING ABOUT THAT SHOP OF YOURS!!! (I work out of my single car garage)
I guess thats the only rule! LOL
Welcome to a comfortable and friendly place. (I think so and I haven't been here long)

I hope you kept a daily diary and wrote down all the hi-jenks you experienced as a shop teacher. If you did, you probably could publish it and make a fortune. If not, then maybe you can share some of the stories here??
My wife is a counsellors secretary at a Jr Hi school. At the supper table her daily stories generally have me laughing my head off (sometimes though, not so). Had she written all the stuff down, she could have been the 2nd Erma Baumbeck!
Tell us about your shop! I'm retired and still want to build my dream shop.
Mike
