Finally bit the bullet. After selling my Delta contractor’s saw, I have ordered a new X-5 Left tilt with 50″ Biesemeyer. Went through the whole internal debate regarding Delta versus PM-66 and was leaning toward the latter. However, the combination of the Biesemeyer and incredible Delta customer service on everything else Delta I have owned (along with $500) took the prize.
$1649 from Superior Distributing in Indianapolis. They will deliver it to me at the Woodworkers Show up here in Chicago in a few weeks. Also really looking forward to the better dustcollection capability and a little more power. The latter is a bit intimidating, I must admit.

Robbie,
Congratulations !! You've gotta be excited. How come your waiting several weeks when Indy is only two hours away?....I'd be gassing up the station wagon...
Or did you get a special cause they are going to use it at the show in Chicago?
BG-
This is not a demo. They won't be using it at the show. They are just taking the opportunity to put it on the truck when they come up. That saves me the shipping cost from Indy to Chicago... not to mention about 7 hours of drive time... after all, yesterday was opening day of archery season in Illinois :-)
You are right, though, I am pretty jazzed to gt this in my shop.
Gotta decide between mobile bases now. I really don't like the Delta. The HTC base I previously had seems so much better constructed that the 2 piece Delta.

Robbie,
ahhh...archery...that explains it. I was just saying on another post I got the shop fox with my TS....but, like most it has two fixed wheels and two 360's...I would perfer they all be 360's...Grizzly has a very reasonable price on replacing the wheels.
I don't know much about the Delta base, but when I saw it I was impressed that you could move the saw with one hand....can't do that with mine...however, I have never had to put the locks on either...

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
Picked up my new X-5 on Saturday. Only tough part was carrying it.
Of course, I had to leave almost immediately on a business trip and it is sitting in my basement waiting to be assembled (fence, ext. table, etc). Wow, it really feels well machined. It is a major step up from my Delta Contractor saw.
Cannot wait to use it.

You should have gotten the Unifence.

Certainly appreciate varying opinions and another's preference... In this case, I will disagree with you. I am ecstatic to have another Biesemeyer T-Square and look forward to using it.
Just called Amazon to get a Bies splitter. Already have a Bies overhead blade guard.
Have the Delta base and it works OK but I recently tried the HTC base in another shop and it's much better. Maybe better enough that I might sell my Delta base.
