This year I’m going to limit my wood purchases to less than 10,000 bd.ft.
no matter how good a deal I get!

My great weakness is veneer, but I lack your will power and therefore can't put a limit on my purchases.
My resolution is to work more and not fool around as much as I do. I could have gotten another 5-7 medium size pieces done this year if, I'd just put my nose to the grindstone. Hello, my name is Rob Millard, and I'm lazy
Rob Millard
Rob, I've seen your work and lazy you are not!
By the way your advice on shellac and rubbing out the finish was, of course, right on the money. It was my first whack at shellac (!) and I am now hooked.
One of my shop related resolutions is to remember to wear a mask!!
Happy New Year!

Hello, Rob. (said in best twelve-step mode)
My name is Tim, and I'm lazy, too. I've made exactly the same resolution: to fool around less and be more productive. Is there a twelve-step support program for lazy people?
"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler."
who said I have will power? I figure that by the time I break my new years resolution I'll have forgotten it.. 10,000 bd.ft. is a lot of trips to the sawmill..
what the heck, I may actually use enough of the wood up so that I'll have the space to store it! (pretty bad when you plan on breaking you new Years resolution on New Years day>>
Frenchy,
Don't listen to that Robby Millard boy...don't buy that 10,000 board feet in veneer thickness...it could poke an eye out...
If Robby needs 10,000 board feet of veneer for 5-6 medium size pieces....seems to me he should do a bit of practicing.....lol....
veneer?
oh! You mean pieces of wood that are less than 6 inches thick? that kind of veneer?
Ooops I keep forgetting over here you guys think in terms of little pieces of wood.. you really aren't into working with 20 feet long 12x12's
Maybe I'm an interloper since I use such big pieces on a regular basis, I kinda thought that since I use hardwoods like black walnut/ white oak Hard maple cherry, tamarck etc. to build this place it was really Fine Food Workin'
(not that I'm makin' any claim that the work I do is particularly fine....)

oh what the heck, why limit yourself, have a sale evey 6 months or so and sell off some of your nice air dried lumber. Given your stock holdings there's sure to be a lot of interest.

I have renewed my resolution from last year, which I kept by the way! I resolve to keep all my fingers intact. Hello, my name is Ed and I am a sawdustaholic.

Thanks Frenchy, I am not a frequent contributor here as you are, but always enjoy and learn from your comments.
