Hello, I am just starting out in woodworking and gathering some basic tools that will be needed. I have seen a number of sites say about getting a good range of screws. I am wondering what is the ideal size i should get or should i just get a mixture of a few.
thanks

the screws will come, don't worry
I wold not worry about getting a supply of screws just yet. I would start on your first project and if you need some go out and buy a small box of them and pack them away and do this with every project for a while. Try to keep them in the origional box. If you go to the local hardware store and find the screws you need in one of those trays, pull it out all the way, they should have full boxes in the back.
Only thing I can suggest is - fine thread screws for hardwood, coarse thread for soft woods.

Buy things like screws as you need them. There is no need to accumulate stuff like that before you begin building anything.
