Hello All!
Besides going to Home Depot or Lowes, which don’t quite have what I’m looking for in my upcoming projects, does anyone know where I could get live edge or go to an actual lumber store near the San Francisco Bay Area?
I’ve been looking online, but either I’m dumb or am just having a real difficult time figuring out which stores truly sell lumber vs selling home improvement service material if that makes sense.
I am aware of Rockler and Woodcraft as options, but I’m hoping I could get, for example a 1/2″ x 4′ x 8′ instead of what they offer, (1/4″ x 24″ x 48″-Rockler), walnut ply or even a 3/4″ walnut ply. I can create my own laminate if need be, but this would be a huge time saver!
Thank You in Advance!

Macbeaths in South Bay or Berkeley. Evan Shiveley (Arborica) in Marshall. There's a guy who advertises on Craigslist who is located in Richmond. Never been to him,it's on my list. Basically lumber yards sell lumber and some building supplies ,home improvement stores sell some lumber and everything under the sun. There are countless lumber yards in the bay area. Where are you North South East or West? Many lumber yards have worthless websites but you have a car, go look!
Awesome I appreciate the input. I am East Area, (Livermore). Was hoping for a general idea of where to look rather than do a blind drive.
I use woodfinder.com when I'm looking for something unusual my regular lumberyards don't carry.
