I’m considering switching to Nordfab quick connect ducting for my large production shop. It is quite an investment, but seems very flexible for future changes, additions, etc. Anyone have experience with it? Worth the money? Regrets?
Thanks,
JR

I use the Norfab system in my shop.
Yes the cost is quite high, but the flexability is great.
I was looking at all the metal duct vs plastic when I wanted to set up a system and felt that the extra cost was worth it.
The greatest thing was the ability to start setting it up in the morning and be using it at the end of the day.
No glue, rivets, or special sealing. One or 2 joints I used some duct tape for sealing as I needed a special connection.
Since my initial purchase, I have re-arranged the shop a few times.
The duct system was able to be changed right along with my changes quite easily.
Most times, you plan the system and buy what you need.
I bought extra pipe, connectors, adapters, etc. to have what I needed on hand for any modifications.
While this added extra cost, it ment I could decide to make changes anytime and not wait for parts (like 8am on a sunday morning, and be finished and working again by noon.)
The connector rings (lock rings) have a foam gasket that can wear out and my supplier gave me a half dozen free for when that happened.
Also, shipping was fast and I didn't need to wait long from when I ordered parts vs receiving them.
My rep also made me up some special adapters free for my needs.
Over-all, I'm very happy with the system.

I agree with Sardog above. I went back and forth on whether to go with Nordfab (maiinly because of cost) but finally broke down and went with it.
I never did regret that decision. Looks great, easy to hook up, and easy to modify without screwing up the rest of the layout.
