Northwest WWers’ Fest – an introduction
Tom is graciously hosting another Northwest Woodworkers’ Fest at his shop in Fremont (Seattle), see here for his query about good dates in May. The Fest in 2005 was fantastic, and I wanted to post some pictures so people could get a feel for what it was like. Seems like there were, what? 40 or so people? Can’t really remember. From as far south as Portland, OR, north maybe to Bellingham, and east. People from Knots and WWA and their spouses, and a crew from Crosscut Hardwoods in Seattle.
He has a “Cajun Microwave” that he BBQ’d a whole pig in, the rest of us brought pot-luck salads, veggies, appetizers and desserts. Lots of demos and shop-talk in his spacious, jaw-dropping shop, including his bow-making equipment and such. Near as I could tell, the non-WWing spouses had a great time too.
OK, here are some pics:
Brian and Len going over some kind of formula for ellipses:

Tom tending to the pig, then carving it up!
Tom demo-ing the MiniMax Combo, and a wider shop shot. That’s my new dust collector in the background (thanks, Brian!):
Dennis and Brian chow down under the tent. Yum!

Oh, and there was a bit of a "tool swap" and a couple people brought portfolios, IIRC.
