It cuts on an angle because...... OK OK Well..... It is called blade drift. Basically speaking almost all bandsaws do it. If you have a fence with it, it may have a drift adjustment, allowing you to take the fence out of parallel. If you don't have a fence then you can easily make one that clamps on and accounts for the drift. You can probably correct a lot of the drift by adjusting the tracking knob on the back of the saw. Making sure that your blade does not come off the wheels, you could try turning it in, make a cut and see if it got better or worse. Adjust it from there. So more or less it seems to be perfectly normal and something that most people live with or sometimes try and highly tune their saw to minimize it. Hope your having fun..... Peter
thanks peter and yes i got a fence picket fence. got u ha ha ha. yes i got 1 peter ty
Dutchy, here's a link to a tutorial on correcting blade drift. There are others, but the pictures here are helpful I think.

Scroll about halfway down this linked page to the section on blade drift. This will cure your problem, in all likelihood ...

Does anyone know how to correct blade drift to the mitre slot? I am trying to saw a log with a sled.
Hi-----What bandsaw do you have? There are basic things you can do to true up the bandsaw. The site mentioned in one of the other posts gives a lot of information. If you still have the owners manual it should guide you through the steps of various adjustments.
The blade should run centered on the wheel-if it is not--you need to adjust tracking. If the blade runs too far in or too far out on the wheel it will make the blade drift one way or the other. Adjusting the blade guides will have a part in it also. Make sure the guides are moved back out of the way when you adjust tracking-----then set the guides according to the way the blade runs. Setting the gudes will have to be done every time you change a blade--not every blade will run the same even if it is the same width blade.
Good Luck, Jerry
thanks jerry it is a delta band saw. ps, i think i got the drift now.
dutchy----good to know YOU have the drift but I hope you can get it out of your bandsaw. LOL
