Allow me to bring to your attention the October issue of “Journal of Light Construction” commemorating their 20th anniversary. It’s completely crammed full of tips, techniques and construction details that are of interest primarily to builders, but would also answer most if not all of the questions i see posted to this board re insulation and sound attenuation. There are some nifty tables on structural steel headers if you want to yank some of those posts out of your way, and not least of all, an illustration on how to frame for that whirlpool tub. (What?! You don’t have one in your shop?!)
I swear you could build The World’s Best Shop using this one issue.

Ahem,
Where does one get this marvelous publication?

JLC should be available at your HD or a bigger bookstore or here. It's similar to Fine Homebuilding mag, but where FHB excels in design, JLC puts more into the nuts-n-bolts dept.
Thanks.
You really have that at your HD? I've never heard of it.
