I was wondering if some of you out there ever use oil base paint in an airless sprayer and what you do with the used cleaning solvent after. Thanks.

You mean like a Graco or something like that? I bought one last year to paint my house and I put oil-base primer on first. I cleaned up the sprayer and gun with paint thinner, and then sprayed the house with latex.
So, yes, I have used an oil-base and I cleaned it with paint thinner. If you are thinking of shooting poly then I would clean with mineral spirits.
Oh, sorry, I wasn't paying attention fully. I let the used thinner sit in a covered 5-gallon bucket for a few weeks and once the solids settled I very carefully poured the thinner back in to its original container. I had to do this over a few weeks' time because there was so much but it's worked out fine.
Thanks for the tip, John.
You're talking about a true airless system, and not an HVLP sprayer, right?
