I recently purchased several used bar clamps. They have quite a bit of dried glue on them, and I was wondering if there is any “secret” removal system. I am using a wire brush with little effect.
Thanks,

I guess you could try a heat gun. soften up the glue then wire brush. Or if it is really stubborn a constantly moving torch.

I just use a sharpened very stiff putty knife. The glue just pops off.
Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

I use My Sandvik scraper.
The glue pops right off.
Dulls the scraper some.
Lostcreek,
Try white vinegar on the dried glue. Soak a rag in the stuff, leave it on the gluey areas overnight, and the stuff should scrape right off.
desertmaster,
THAT'S the magic potion I was looking for...thanks to all for your suggestions. It'll be clamps soaked in white vinegar and then scraping the glue off.

Festool will soon release the Festool Glumen Pick. For only $1200.00 it will remove glue from any surface. Also available is the nose attachment (for a small additional charge) for those stubborn buggers that just won't let go of the long, flowing nose hairs.
Scott,
Be advised that the Glumen Pick (TM) only will work on Fesgloo (TM), available for the nominal charge of 49$ per quarter-liter. It is suggested boogers be first primed with a fingertip dipped in said fesgloo, for most efficacious removal.

Does it come with the special modular case or is that extra?, and what about dust collection:)Troy
