A friend of mine has an old Craftsman door planer that needs a new drive belt. The model has to be 40 years old. Does anyone have suggestion on a source. Craftsman no longer stocks the part.

Either a vaccumn cleaner repair or Sears.

How about using those link belts so popular for table saw motors? They can be made to any length.

This belt is a toothed belt maybe 3 or 4" in diameter.
Linkbelts might work, you need the correct V size . Most vaccumn cleaner repair shops carry small belts. He might get lucky there.
