I may have outdone myself on this one. I went to purchase blades for my old Crescent jointer an it seems they don’t make them any more. Does anyone know of a site where I can find them? I need a set of four.

You might try poking around this site , http://www.OWWM.com
Old wood working machinery .com , or check with the shops that fabricate tool cutters and knives .

I live in northern michigan. Our local sawblade dealer/sharpener supplies our millwork shop with a varity of blades and Its my understanding that he can get whatever we need. Check your yellow pages or goggle search what you want to buy and include your state in the search. Hope this helps.

It looks like they have what I need. Thanks for the tip!
They certainly still make blades for that jointer. I second the Schmidt recommendation. That is an excellent jointer. One of the best as far as simple jointers. I work on machines and have tuned up many a Crescent for folks. I'd take it over a modern parallelogram jointer any day of the week. You are best to slide the tables apart and reference off the head when changing knives.
I'll try it as soon as I get my blades. It looks like the folks at Schmidt have what I need. Thank you, I was starting to worry a bit!
