Just following the lead of the magazine I suppose
Kind of reminds me of what has been going on in the magazine and the beginner articles and repeating of same old same old.
I bet there is a lot of great work being done out there by people who have not been in the magazine before and sectors of the craft that could be explored for the first time.
Some body needs to go on a pilgrimage and not come back until they find some such.
PS: to be fair there have been some new faces in the mag but still.
I think people do a search and since Google will search Knots now they find hits and post. I do not think they look at the original post date.
Thread ressurection
Some threads get ressurected by spammers, some by folks doing topic searches, but failing to notice the date of the original post. Once the thread pops back up, others respond without noticing the age of the original post. I've done that, too.
It is often a coin toss whether adding to an old thread is more helpful than startig a new thread on the same topic. Few topics are really new, after all.
