I just purchased an old industrial Shopmate Blitz Saw. It Model No. is 1813, Type 1. It is made by Portable Electric Tools, Inc. It is in good working condition, but it is missing the foot and the front handle that screws in. The man who sold it to me said that I can purchase a new foot of a sawzall and it would fit. The width where the foot would be is 2 3/8″. If this is true, does anyone know where I can find these parts? Here are the photos of the saw: http://s898.photobucket.com/albums/ac190/jpmikesell/Shopmate%20Blitz%20Saw/. Also, does anyone know the approximate value?
I thank you for your time, Jenny

Not a collectable.
These aren't likely to be collector's items, very few portable power tools are, so the value is more or less its tag sale or E-bay going price, I would guess probably no more than $10 or $20 and that would be for a tool with all of its parts.
Sawzall is a brand name of the Milwaukee Electric Tool Co. They are still in business so parts are available, an on line search turned up several places that sell parts for their tools.
That said, your saw doesn't look at all like a Sawzall, I would be very surprised if the parts will fit.
blitz saw parts
Hi, I inherited, and finally tried to use the blitz saw(mine is model 1815) but it is missing the screw, on the bottom left side; I suspect the screw has something attached to it's tip that must press against the internal, linear moving shaft because it wobbles going in and out and we all know that isn't right.
Anyway, my question is did you find, or does anyone know where I can get the missing part?
Thank you,
Russ
blitz saw
Hi Russ. I know this is an older post and hope you get my message back. Just wondering if you found parts for your saw?? I have an 1815 myself and it was my grandpa's. I was using it one day and the connecting rod to the blade shaft came loose and blew out the side of the saw in the manner of and dragster going down the track and boom!!! I'm so sick about it because my grandpa passed a few years back and the bolt that held it in place kept vibrating loose and I kept tightening it. I guess the last time I didn't tighten it enough!!!! Any ideas?? The motor shaft is bent and I can epoxy the hole in the side, just need a motor.
Thanks Dick
Shopmate, and Portable Electric Tools were industrial grade tool companies owned by GW Murphy Industries of Texas. The Shopmate tool bodies were very rugged metal construction and were prized by professionals. GW Murphy sold the division to McGraw-Edison who in turn sold it to Deco enterprises. Spare parts can be obtained through DECO Enterprises in StLouis MO. The phone number is 314 353 4900. Wen may have made a cheap copy of the Shopmate tool, but Wen was a very poorly made brand sold by junk dealers.
phone number for Deco Enterprises
I tried calling Deco Enterprises at the number given in the above post and it is a non-working number. I have a McGraw Edison 10" Band saw that I need a blade for. Haven't yet had any luck in locating one. Please advise if any info might be available from anyone. Thanks very much.
