Hi,
This weekend I bought a table that looks like it was made in the 1940’s (porcelain over metal top).
The frame is wood and in generally fine shape, but the bottom of two of the four legs seem to have some rot inside them at the feet. The leg is intact, but I can scrape bits of wood out from beneath the foot of the leg with my fingernail.
I don’t want to replace the legs and someone mentioned a product that I could soak the bottom of the leg in to stop the rot and make it ready for painting.
Any suggestions or knowledge of this product?
Many thanks.
Michael

Maybe an enamel top table? Kitchen table. So cute.
How far up does the rot go, do you think. For that style table you might be able to cut off enough of the leg to get to good wood and then put the table on casters--preferably old wood ones--to get the height back.
My sister took one and painted a chess/checker board on it for a game table.
