I have a question for all. I just acquired a 1950 (i think) 8 inch table saw with stand for $35. It had very little use by the past owner. This saw is built better that most contractor and bench saws that are available today. There is one little problem – it has a 1/2″ arbor. I can run 5/8 arbor blades with an adaptor ring. I was wondering if anyone has other ideas?

You mean a bushing to take up the gap between 1/2" and 5/8"? It shouldn't be a problem. Make sure you still can clamp down on the blade and stick with the 8" diameter blades.
Enjoy,

Thank you for reading my posting.
Porter Cable makes 6" blades with an 1/2" arbor.
Thank You, That was very helpful.
