I have addressed this forum sometime back regarding a good moble base for my 1958 era unisaw. I still have not made up my mind and need some coaxing and good advice. I currently have the saw mounted on a carriage built by a friend made of welded 2″steel square tubing. I have welded 2 , 3″ fixed wheels, hard rubber mounted across from each other mid way of the saw base. I also have one 3″ swivel caster on the opposite end of the end of the extension table as a pivit point. The base is well made but I weigh only 185lbs and struggle every time I have to move this beast. I have looked at the H T C , the Shop Fox both on Amazon .com and also the Delta 50-289 which as I read the ad correctly it is $157.95 less $25.00 promo if over if the purchase is over $150.00. any good ideas would be greatly appreciated. Also any good ideas as to legs for the extention table. I should have mentioned it is the 52 ” table. Thank you all in advance

I have an HTC mobile base on my Unisaw (2002). It works!
I can move the saw and a cantilevered 32" outfeed/router table with one hand.

I have Delta base under mine (30ish" fence), and it is fine. I have HTC bases under other stuff, and had one under my previous contractor's saw.
The Delta was a simple bolt together. The HTCs all required some degree of messing. The one for the contractor's saw needed the holes for the brake screws to be retapped. The one under my drillpress is wiggly. (A drillpress is pretty top heavy, of course.)

Thanks for your comments regarding the Delta mobile base. I have heard like comments from others. Also have heard similar comments about tht H TC base. I only want to do this once and make sure that it is the right one for my machine. I also have a Delta D J 20 jointer a Delta sanding center and a Delta heavy duty jointer that have H T C bases and there seems to be no problem with these but not the weight that the Unisaw has.
Again thanks for your comments

Thanks for your comments regarding the Unisaw delema. I probably do have the wrong casters on the base. I have heard that sometimes steel casters are better than rubber. Sometimes if left in one spot too long they get flat spot on the bottom of the rubber. . I should take my base to a caster specialty company and get some ideas there. Three or four of the best casters in the world have to be a lot less than purchasing a whole new base. I wonder if 3" wheels are sufficient.

3" should be sufficient, the wheels on the Delta bases are 3" and of a hard material.

I have the powermatic mobil base with (I think) 3 inch castors. I don't move it around with one hand but it moves satisfactorily.
