older Veritas Twin Screw Vise (model O5G12.01)
Greetings. I’m wondering what the differences are between this older version (O5G12.01) and the newest version (O5G1222). I get the difference between 1221 and 1222.) I have dibs on the older version if I want it and it would be nice to know the features and upgrades. I think I do know that the older version has a plastic chain cover and it appears the screws can be placed up to 20″ apart. That is little more than speculation on my part. Does anyone know for sure what some differences are I should be aware of?
Attached should be a link to the Craigslist picture. Thank you. Jay

I have the one pictured on Lee Valley's webpage. I bought it 15 to 20 years ago. The only difference I can see from your pictures is the chain cover is different. The current one is three pieces, two ends and a middle section.
Thanks Jim. Is your cover plastic or aluminum? Any of the gears or mechanisms aluminum. I am also wondering if the older model has the release pin on one crank to allow skewing the clamp? I appreciate the feedback and now that the work week is here I should contact Lee Valley. They probably have upgrade parts available if necessary. Thanks again.
