Does anyone have any experience with Porter Cable’s new Omnijig? I’m talking about the new one just out this January, not the old red cast iron workhorse. They have announced it and advertised with much fanfare, but I haven’t seen a single article or comment in print in way of a review.
How does it compare to the Leigh D-4? The Akeda? The ads tout the “no test piece” setup ease, any comments?
Thx,
Gerry

There's a dovetail-jig comparison review at Woodshop Demos. I don't know how the newest Omnijig differs the one he tried out, if at all.
Thanks, forestgirl...
That is a good review, but did not include the new Omnijig. However, I just checked the Porter Cable website and saw that they now show the release date as August, 2007 (it was formerly around January, 07). Guess that explains why there are no reviews. Maybe they had production problems or something.
I have not seen the "new 4.0" version of the OMNI jig yet, just pictures. The picture in the link review is an older version. The New version has preset stops for adjusting router bit depth, Much better than the newer PC 12" model. We have some on order for testing and am anxious to give it a try. Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!
