“When we build, let us think that we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work as our descendants will thank us for; and let us think…that a time is to come when those (heirlooms) will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, ‘See! This our father did for us.’ “ –John Ruskin.

Great ad material! Have you approached them? And kudos for innovative thinking.

While I agree it is a great pic and would make a great add, the lawyers would have a FIT with this.

I'm not selling clamps, just passing on a technique for setting beams accurately while working alone. But I do prefer traditional cast iron and tempered steel instead of plastic and pot metal for all my work, not just heavy lifting.
A safety chain could easily be added, but that's just one more thing to remove while standing on the beam to remove the clamps.

The beam only weighs 350lbs and the clamps used are rated at 1200lbs each. The pads are coated with rosin, the forks are clamped to the top of the beam and torqued down hard, the beam lifted and shaken, then lowered and the clamps retorqued. You cna see the bend that kind of torque puts in those spring steel bars.
Done this way there's no real danger of slipping, and a lot less risk exposure compared to a helper having to work beneath a beam suspended by straps and controlled by tag lines.

Sorry, should have been clearer, I do not have an issue with this, I was just pointing out that while I think it would be a great add, the lawyers would not let it get to press.
We all know that if someone tried that (in a less safe manor) and droped it on his toe he would go after any company that showed an photo like this. I don't think that is right but it is the world we live in.
And in truth I have sean a LOT worse then this at a job site over the years.
