Hi everyone,
I am looking for a quick and easy to use optimising program. I allready have realy good software in ecabinets. would advize serious furniture makers to have a look at www.ecabinets.com . But sometimes all I would like to do for estimating purposes is enter some aproximate panel sizes, and from this find the amount of sheets needed and the most economical way they should be cut using a panel saw without having to go through the process of constucting the cabinets with a cad program 1st.
could anyone help with this problem. Thanks.

I also have "e-cabinets", but it is too cumbersome for what you are asking. I have an optimising program called SheetLayout just for this purpose. It's basically a good program, although there are a few quirky things that don't get in my way. If all you need is to optimize sheets, it's fine.

You could try cutlist. It allows for multiple ways to perform the task. I have used only the freebe. The pro version allows for many defined units and invetory do a google and download the freebie and see if it works. I've almost pulled the trigger a couple of times.
Your thread prompted me to take a look at Woodweb's software page. Just thought I'd throw it out as a general "good place to look" for WWing software. They even have one for designing DC systems.
