Does anyone have any opinions (opinions – here – at Knots – not likely!) on the Grizzly G0529 Oscillating Spindle 10″ Disk combo Sander?

I'd be interested myself, it looks like a good combination of functions.
Exactly what I thought too. Why have a belt AND a disk - they do pretty much the same thing.
BTW, I'm from the UK and in British English your name "Napie" although spelt differently ("Nappy") means diaper!!
Yeah, I spent some time in the UK. The origin of the nickname is a long story from the Harley ridding days........
I'd disagree on the belt vs. disk issue though, a disk does not do much of a job smoothing long grain. I use mine a lot to finish off the bottoms ot turned platters and bowls.
I just received mine last month. Haven't had the opportunity to use it a whole lot but so far, I really like it.
I have that unit. I got it about a year ago, directly from Grizzly. I really like it. It's smooth powerful and easy to change spindles on. It's a 12" disc, though, not 10" It replaced a vibrating piece of junk belt/disc combo by Craftsman.
