Is there any reason to use or not use epoxy for joinery vs Titebond III in outdoor furniture? I like to use epoxy because of gap-filling and waterproofing, especially when mortise/tenons are not perfect. But all projects I see for outdoor furniture recommend Titebond III or equivalent. Seems like epoxy should be stronger anyway. Any input appreciated.
Thanks

I haven't worked up past titebond I yet but I'm slow to accept change. Anyway - sure epoxy is stronger but III is easier to use and certaintly strong enough for your project. For poor fitting joints - just pin them. If you tried to fill up gaps with a shinny epoxy squeeze out you'll have a difficult clean up and the epoxy won't take paint or finish.

thanks Westchester good point on pinning. Epoxy does feel like cheating.
