I’m looking for some ideas about building outdoors storage cabinets for a client of mine. They are to be on a balcony and almost completely exposed to the elements. I’ve built a lot of interior cabinets, but I never built anything for the outside. Is there some material that holds up to the weather?

Interesting project, don't know how involved you or the client want to go, expense or dimensions? The first thing that comes to mind thru the mists is a basic framework to support cedar shingles. I could even envision "small" shingles to accomplish this, what do you think? There is always pressure treated wood to work with too, hmmm, if you want a pt look to it. Hope this helps, good luck.
*John, Unless you are building finish grade cabinets, you might consider MDO (medium density overlay). It's what most highway signs are made of. You may have to special order it. GP
