Oval Inlays for Federal Card Table
I’m building the federal card table shown in the
last issue of FWW magazine. Does anyone know
where the author got the nice looking oval
inlays that were installed near the top of the
table legs?

I think you'll find this video quite handy if you're looking to make that federal card table inlay. http://www.pem.org/luxury/inlay.html
The video shows how Philip Lowe makes the leaves with just a few pieces of satinwood.

Dont know how close any of these are to the ones in the mag (I don't have it handy at the moment) but Constantines has a pretty good selection of pre-made inlays.

If you build it he will come.
Steve Latta, author of the story, made the inlays and stringing. Go to page 102 of that issue to see how he did the stringing and banding. How he made the paterae and bellflowers is to appear in the next issue. The article also gives some sources for pre-made inlay.
