Hello,
I’m just finising up work on a set of maple kicten cabinets and on the first set of the doors, I over did it with the Waterlox Original. Applied several coats with a brush and I did not sand between coats. So it appears very glossy and a bit runny in spots. Having learned from the error of my ways, on the second set of doors, I applied three thin coats with a rag and they now have a nice satin glow to them.
So my obvious question is what is the best way to cut down the finish on the first set of doors to match the second. Any suggestions are very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Two choices. One is to sand it down and apply a coat of the Waterlox using a rag. Second is to totally strip and start over.
Now, the question is, what do you mean by "Waterlox Original"? There are three products with that name. One is a Sealer/Finish, the other two are a gloss and and a satin varnish.
The reason for asking is that the Sealer/Finish would not be considered durable enough for kitchen cabinets. It should be overcoated with a couple of coats of one of their varnishes.
