I have always been very close to ‘the edge’ but now I’m sure I have went ‘way’ over the edge…
My grandaughter just loves to play with nuts ans screws.. I do not know why so I thought I’d make her some out of wood.. I thought safer for a little child than the metal ones..
I go the Beall Tool COmpany wood threader for 1/2, 3/4, and 1 inch.. Bit expensive though…
Geee.. after starting making them I coulden’t stop! I used up all my hardwood dowels… and scrap for the nuts…
I coulden’t put the thing down!

I have been close on several occasions to buying one of those, it looks like it would be fun to play with, but other more pressing things seemed to come along and I didn't. Aside from the granddaughter, what use do you see putting it to?
Aside from the granddaughter, what use do you see putting it to?Actually I was going to make a book shelf with threaded legs.. 8 legs total with decorated wooden nuts for adjusting the shelf heights..Just a thought I had... I'll give it a try.. Would like the legs larger than 1 inch but may still 'look' OK...
There is a wonderful toy she really might like--basically a wood erector set.
And what you have made is a kind of "whimsy"--wooden things carved out of wood. My sister has a collection. Has some pliers, for instance.

NA! Good idea BUT.. I turned on the saw once while she was WAY back from it.. She screamed and ran out of the shop.. Maybe some other day I'll try again..
OK, so that means some nice Lie-Nielsen planes, Sorby Chisels, Good hand saws, a Brace & bit and some other nice hand tools for her to Grow Into1 - measure the board twice, 2 - cut it once, 3 - measure the space where it is supposed to go 4 - get a new board and go back to step 1
