Looking to buy the 314 saw for shop use and job-site use. However im unable to find any aftermarket blades. The PC blades probably will do the trick but id like to know if there are other blades out there. I looked and cant find anything but PC blades.
The saw fits my needs however my needs also would like to different blades.
Im posting here and at BT since this saw might be in the hands of WW as well as trimmers. TIA

I've got a Dewalt trim saw that's got a 6 1/2 inch blade that i have similar problems with, its always a pain to try to find aftermarket blades that aren't just steel ones that my local hardware store carries.
I'd be interested in knowing what kinda online sources there are for odd sized blades.

Bill[?],
I have and love the PC314 and use #### blades that I buy at my local Lumberman's ,a chain lumberyard and hardware store in Oregon and Washington. They are kind of spendy [24$] but hold up well under the abuse I regularly give them.I have also used the PC blades and find them pretty good but I think the Mat.blades stay sharp longer. It's a shame, but realistic, that the limited demand for 4 1/2" blades dictate that they cost more than 7 1/4" 's. I'm not even sure that anyone but PC makes a 4 1/2" saw. I'll watch this thread with interest to see if any other brands and sources turn up.

I don't know why, but the #### in my previous post should read #### .Two attempts to edit it back in have failed. Maybe this will work.

Now I get it, Prospero's auto censor doesn't read Japanese. Maybe it will allow Matsush*ta ,Rhymes with Rita.

I have a porter-Cable #314 trim saw myself love it.. I use oldHam 20 tooth Carbide bades in it & the plywood blades from PC,I suggest you check with a local Hardware or Building supply Dealer to see if they can order OldHam or Porter Cable Blades for you.. Tool Crib of the North "Amazon.Com" carries Porter Cable Blades both the Plywood & Com-Carbide.. a side note here Pentair who owns both Porter-Cable & Delta just bought the OldHam saw company.. you may be able to order blades from a local Porter-Cable service Center also...

How does the Mati and oldham blades hold up to MDF and particle board since the saw will be used on cutting sheetgoods for countertops substrate. Sheetgoods arent known to be nice on blades and longevity...
I dont use MDF or particle board all the time, but this saw will be used for sheetgoods and trim and i dont want to spend all the time going back and forth from the sharpening shop because im limited to choices.
Thanks for the Oldham and Mati brands leads. I just hate using my mag77 or bulky sidwinder if the 314 can fit my needs with more pros then cons on sheet goods.

Bill,
I found Matsush*ta 30 tooth at Coastal tool for $19.95. Sorry no url, IGoogled and bookmarked it. I have little exp. with MDF and PB; I did Cut some melamine once and it did fine, almost no chipping, but not enough to test longevity.

the OldHam blades are holding up very well in the 314 for cutting plywood & particle board & also hardboard underlayment.. I bought 3 of the OldHam carbides and they hold up great before needing sharpening..

Thanks for the info. ive gotten enough leads about aftermarket blades to warrant a purchase.
I haven't found them elsewhere either. I buy enough junk off of amazon, and it saves me about $8 a blade vs buying them locally.
