Packard Precision Heavy Duty Drill Press
I have purchased a 1983 Packard Precision Heavy Duty Drill Press, Model # 1600HDF, 16 speed, 3/4 hp. w/ 5/8″ chuck. It seems to run fine, but I cannot find the company or any other info on the machine. Anyone have any info? I would love a book on this floor stand drill press. Father Ted.

I'd use a carborundum bit or a diamond bit. Adjusting the belt/pulleys, to achieve the proper speed for drilling your type of stones. If you want a bench drill, consider this one. Easy setup, easy to change speeds, accurate. A great deal in my opinion. Great for the price, drill chuck run-out is .005 tir 2" from the chuck jaws, I use it for leather work so it's fine.
