I posted something earlier about a window I’m planning to make. It’ll be painted inside and out, but that got me thinking. When wood is more or less sealed on all sides, how does that affect the degree to which it moves in relation to the ambient humidity?

It slows the wood movement, but doesn't stop it. Of course, if it slows it enough, the total movement ends up being reduced since the wood doesn't reach equilibrium in the moist season before it starts to dry in the drier seasons.
