I spray exclusively waterbased finishes & until now, have been exhausting my small finishing room out the window with a fan. I draw air from the main room of the shop through filters through the wall seperating the finishing room & the main room. I am not exhausting enough air fast enough & I need to use a larger fan. At the same time I am thinking of instead of exhausting the heated air (it’s winter up here in Minn-e-sota) outside, and having to supply replacement air from outside, exhausting it back into the main shop by means of a exhaust fan mounted in the ceiling (covered with a filter) & piped back into the main room via duct work. Any feedback from antone on this would be appreciated. Thanx again…

Unless you have the correct filters, you will be constantly recirculating fume laden air from your finishing room to the shop and back and forth.
Remember, the only thing "safer" about waterborne finishes is that they are inflammable. They still contain solvents and other chemicals that call for respirators and proper handling of exhausted airborne chemicals. Got a copy of the MSDS for the products you use to determine what type of filtration or respirator is needed.
In the shop I used to be involved with, we still needed scrubbers before with could exhaust waterborne finish fumes.
