I have interest in building a mobile painting shop adaptable to a small place. By mobile I mean a shop made of temprorary walls with an outlet for ventilation. I want to disassemble this sop soon I finished to paint. Somebody have an idea.

Mine is actually made of cardboard and 1x2 lumber for the frame. It folds somewhat like an accordion so it becomes really compact. The fan with the best CFM I could find was not a box fan. However in came in a box so I simply cut two large holes in the box for the suction and exhaust of the fan. I keep the fan in the box at all times. I taped a furnace filter to the intake side of the box. I used the type of filter that only picks up large particles so it does no clog with finish. On the exhaust side I made a square duct out of cardboard. Using a couple of 2" styrofoam sheets I make a temporary wall that fits perfectly in my garage door opening. That wall has a square hole into which the fan's exhaust duct fits pretty tightly.
This way all the fumes go outside and rain and snow don't come in while I am spraying.
I don't have photos handy but if you want I can take some and post them.
Forgot to mention the turn table, which is a very important aspect of the setup. I copied the design for mine from a video I found on the web (cannot find it anymore):
- Use a piece of sheet good for the base. Something like 3'x3'or larger. Screw a flange on it to accept a 1 1/4" outside diameter threaded steel pipe.
- For the table, glue/nail/screw two layers of 3/4" sheet good and cut into a circle about 24" in diameter. Screw a flange on the underside of the table to accept a 3/4" outside diameter threaded steel pipe.
- Cut a piece of 1 1/4" threaded steel pipe, about 30" long, and thread it into the base flange.
- Cut a piece of 3/4" threaded steel pipe, less than 30" long, and thread it into the table flange.
- Insert the small diameter pipe inside the bigger pipe. This does not make for a very precise bearing but it is very strong and the table turns effortlessly.
