I have just finished painting my old kitchen cabinet mdf doors with an acrylic paint. Should I apply any other finish over the paint to keep the doors looking good longer?

I agree with Hammer - but not for the beat it to fit part :)
Keep the doors clean - kitchens generate grime, smoke, etc. Wash gently with mild soap every so often. Keep track of the brand and color paint so in 5 or 6 years you can re-paint easily -
Did you use a brush, spray, sponge brush to apply paint ?
