I restore horse drawn carriages, does anyone have any experience in using some of the new paints? (epoxy, polyurathanes etc.) over wood, what would be the best paints to use?
Thanks

We often use polyurethane enamel on entry doors, columns, etc. It has held up well over time and seems to retain it's gloss better than alkyds. Many of the epoxies tend to fade/chalk fairly soon when exposed to the weather and UV. The one thing with the polys is that you probably should use HVLP or convential spray guns to apply the stuff. It sets up fast enough that it's tough to apply it nicely by hand.
