I’m in the process of mounting my Delta Contractors saw on a new mobile base / cabinet. And, figured while I had it off the base, and the fence off, it would be the right time to do the tune-up and alignment.
I have the PALS kit, and the instructions that came with it. I am unsure where the nuts provided install.
Is it:
1.) trunion, nut, pals, lock nut. This makes almost the most sense, but then how is the trunion loose enough to move, since with the pals in place you can’t tighten and loosen the nut.
2.) trunion, pals, lock nut. This makes sense to me, but what is the plain nut for?
3.) trunion, pals, nut, lock nut. This kind of makes sense, but why not just just a second nut if all it does is act as a jamb nut.

The first plain nut doesn't get fully tightened against the PALS bracket. The trunion bracket has to be able to move. When the locknut goes on, you have to use two wrenches so the locknut doesn't drive the plain nut. When installing the stud, you can use the two nuts locked together method. It would be trunion, PALS, washer, plain nut, locknut.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
