Part numbers for Inca tilt-top tablesaw
I have an Inca tilt-top table saw that was purchased from Lee Valley about 20 years ago. During a recent cleaning, I noticed that the threading on the screw that operates the height adjustment was quite worn. When I contacted Lee Valley to find out about replacing the threaded parts, they forwarded me to Garrett Wade, who bought up their stock of parts. The Garrett Wade rep has asked me for a part number, but I can’t find my owners manual.
Can anyone help with part numbers? I want to replace these parts before the saw becomes inoperable.

Hi Frozen,
I have one of those saws too. All I have is "The INCA Woodworking Machinery Handbook" (no part #'s). I also tried to find parts for it and my Inca bandsaw. It was my understanding that Garret Wade was the lone Inca support system left. I believe that Garret Wade has actually dropped them now too, although they may still have some stored parts. The information I got indicated that some French company bought Inca and has been too difficult for anyone to deal with. Highland Hardware, here in Atlanta use to sell Inca, they could have something but I doubt it, they sent me to Garret.
I have given up on my Inca saws, just bought a General Table Saw. Sorry I do not have better news for you.
Hey Frozen,
I might be able to help.I'm in Montreal and on the weekend I went to a woodworking machine and hand tool dealer in St. Jerome.I was as surprised as hell to see a brand new Inca bandsaw on display.
The store is C.E.J., phone # 450-436-8488 or 450-476-9914. The only problem you might have is that very few people there speak english.
Good luck,
Brent
Thanks Brent and Mitch. The question was worth asking, but this is about what I expected. I'll keep the parts well greased, and keep looking.
I don't know the part number, but I have this saw, and the screw you're referring to can be replaced by a standard threaded rod: diameter is 10 mm, pitch is 1.5 mm per thread. The only difference will be that the original part is threaded for only part of its length, while the replacement will be threaded for its entire length. Should make no difference. This part is very easy to remove and reinstall. You just remove the jam nut at the end opposite the handwheel end, and the part will unscrew right out. The handwheel attaches with a set screw, so it can be reused. BTW, the only annoying part of working on this saw is dealing with the 6 allen bolts that attach the table to the tilt rails. There is not enough clearance to get a regular allen wrench in the bolts. You can buy special "stubby" allen wrenches that hace a very short angle end, and make this task much easier. (You can get these at http://www.mscdirect.com). Good luck with your saw. Nick
Thanks, Nick! This thread had gone cold, so your response is a gift. It did occur to me that the part might be replacable with something off-the shelf, but I have less faith in my machinist skills than my woodworking skills.
let me know if you still need that part number- i have most of the literature for mine, so if the info you need isn't in the water damaged stuff i probably have it.
