hey guys and gals; just inherited a 2118 29-n19 paselode narrow crown stapler thats made in west germany. Does any one use this gun currently and if you do which staples does this gun use and what is my length range? it looks really well built and best of all doesnt have a safety to double dent my work. Thanks all Clay

hi there Clay
I have both that stapler and its brother the 18g brad gun. They were made for Paslode about 8-10 yrs ago in Germany. At that time they sold for several hundred dollars each.Parts for them are now difficult to find .I bought some of the last driver blades, bumps and seals available at least 4 years ago from paslode. They went when Paslode brought out it's Lite -Line from China selling for under $100(sort of throw aways if you like).I intend to keep them for another 10 years like the 4 Mustangs I own from the same maker. The brad gun also shoots headless pins in 18g.The Model designation means this : 2 is series no.
118 max length in inches (1 1/8")
29 max fastner length in mm
n crown (n = narrow I =intermediate
18 gauge of fastner ( you have it shown as 19 )means 18 g
So straight collated 18g paslode staples will work but you will have to break the strips off shorter.Lastly use a few drops of pneumatic tool oil each day. If you need any further info get back to me. Jako
thanks alot jako for the info. cant figure out why none of the fastner companys could give me the same info. Your info was awsome. will be looking for that brother brad nailer. Got the serial number info as well for the brad nailer?does it shoot 2 inch brads? Love the fact there is no safety and the nose is easy to line up with your target. thanks again Clay
Hi Clay All serial No info works for both stapler and brad gun.The max fastner length is 1 1/4 in , Min 5/8in both headed and headless.Note that there is a bailwire safety on the brad gun.If you like old, obsolete nailers the 16 ga Mustang has a sliding nose that takes up little space and is easy to place fasteners.Again note that it tends to have less power than the current models ,parts are difficult, but it shoots 3/4 to 2.5 in and has difficulties with dense hardwoods.I however, love them for paint grade trim because of the exact placement. So much of this is practice. After a few days one can get used to any gun. I have just purchased the trimpulse and framing nailer both gas powered and just love not lugging a compressor for small jobs. Both have safety noses
