I made a major mistake a while ago ansd now it has come back to haunt me. I was putting in a plug and missed the wall while drilling attempting to dril into the wall. For a while I had a 7/8″ hole in the floor. Now I’ve sold the house and need to repair the floor. the laminate we had saved was ruined in a minor flood last year.
It is an older style and not made any more so going out to buy more is out.
I was thinking of getting a small piece of solid wood and making a plug but don’t know how well the color would match. I am also limited in the tools I have as I sent almost all of my tools on to the new house(across the country). the floor is a medium cherry color so it may be difficult to match.
Any other suggestions???

This hole was mentioned in the buyer's inspection report?
Is there matching laminate flooring in a small closet?
Dan:
If you ran the laminate flooring into a small closet you could re-floor the closet with a current product that is a close match and reuse the old material to patch your floor.
