My PC 7529 router is suffering from low power. Bogs down using even a 1/4″ straight bit. Have blown out with air compressor. Checked brushes and they are still quite long but they are wearing on the ends; i.e., there are 3 concave surfaces. The large middle area is concave and the two outer ends are smaller concave surfaces…. almost as if the ends are hitting first.
Doesn’t make sense to me…. seems like the spring would force the brush in tightly. Maybe I didn’t get properly seated last time I checked them. I am assuming the brushes are causing my low power?
Any suggestions? Do I need to replace brushes or will it self-correct?

You might get lucky (& have brush problem) but I doubt it.
7529/8529 plagued with brake, brain and switch problems. Plan on a visit to the repair shop.

Thanks for your reply even though it was not what I wanted to hear. Have had problems with the PC 7529; replaced the switch and have never been happy with the plunge action. Finally just removed the springs and use as router table router.
Anybody had any experience with PC service? Is this likely to cost more than a new router?
Not likely that it is the brushes with those symptoms. Typically, with bad brushes the tool simply won't start, or will cut in and out. Smooth running but low power suggests, as already mentioned, bad electronics.
