pc router depth adjustment from bottom
i have the porter cable combo kit 893pk, and was wondering if anyone has seen an adjustment “key” for depth like the bosch routers have that you can use thru the base when it is mounted in a router table? there is a hole in the base plate that goes to the bottom of the fine adjustment knob. and there is a “allen” (male) looking pc that protrudes from the bottom of the adjustment knob that you could reach with some sort of “key”
thanks

HI Merivern;
I purchased that kit & was disappointed to find the adjusting tool was not included in the package. You can order it from your PC dealer.
is this the thing? looks like that barrel would be too large in diameter to fit thru the base. it's for the 700 series, and works from above, not thru base.or is it the other thing? "pcAdjuster2"? i was expecting to see a long shaft with knob at top, not knobs at both ends?i've looked everywhere i can think of and cant find anything specifically for this purpose.thanks

The knb on the bottom slides up the shaft when inserted thru the router table. The graduations on the sliding knob will tell you how much the router is moving up or down
DOH! i really do have a brain.....i swearthank you
Had you bought the 895 kit, you would have the tool. However, you may not need it. I don't. I leave a base attached ubder my table but remove the motor. If you can do that, simply turn your base to where the lever and height adjuster are toward the front. You can easily make adjustments from underneath. Alternatively, if you can't see your way to do that, I have a virgin tool on which I can make you a great price.

I have a PC 890 Router ("Which is mounted on a router table) have two adjustment knobs which enable you to make height changes thru the router base. One of these is still in its shrink-wrapped package and is item # 75301. Also has an offset wrench. The shaft is 8" long and has a measurment disk which slides up and down the shaft. The end of the shaft opposite the handle has a female Allen socket. I'll sell it to you for $10.00 + postage e-mail me at [email protected].
