PC router with free sander down to $86
This Amazon deal has been floating around for a couple of weeks but the Porter-Cable 690LR router with the free 343K random orbital sander is now down to $86. Look for the link in the middle of the page and use code FREE343K at checkout:

The code doesn't want to work right now. Do you have the original coupon?
It works..you have use the button in the middle of the page that adds both at the same time - the coupon code is there. You can't add them seperately and get it to work.
The router will be at my house on the 26th, thanks for mentioning this.
The ROS won't be here until the end of January. That will probably end up on Ebay.
Odd, when I looked at it, the router was 86 and it said nothing about the sander, the combo deal (listed farther down the patch was for (I think) 140 or so (same as if sold seperately)

I ordered the set earler today. Thanks for the heads up.
I just checked again, it looks like the two-for-one deal is gone.
When did they tell you they would ship the ROS? I got a ship date of 1/28.
They did not give a date. but the sander and router will ship from two different places.
Dear CM,
Router.... Very Good
Sander.......OK
Altogether a great deal! Good Find!!

I picked up this "set" at the Big Blue Box a couple weeks ago. I paid more than $86 there. In my opinion the sander is a piece of junk, very awkward. It seems to me to be too tall to have accurate control when I grip it palm down from the top. Gripping it side ways is just plain uncomfortable. It also has WAY too much un-balanced vibration for my liking. The router doesn't have the same fit and finish as my older PC routers and is physically taller than those. It also isn't as smooth running as it should be.
Both lack the "Proudly made in the USA" stickers the older tools had. The new ones are made in Mexico. I don't know whether or not this has anything to to with the decline in quality or if the company as a whole is going by way of Black & Decker.
Buyer beware, you get what you pay for.

EDIT: The purchase may have been made at the "Big Orange Box". They tend to blend together at times..........

I got a free 690 router when I bought my Delta drum sander. I use it primarily with my Leigh D4r. It works fine for me. It's not ergonomic like my 890, but it's an old design. As far as not being made in US, my friend that's just the way things are. They all chase the cheaper labor to compete.Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
They are up to $99 and on backorder. That is what I get for not 'pulling the trigger sooner. Still a bargain.
Thanks for the tip
