PC siding cutter for plastic laminate
I tried my siding cutter on laminate last night because the business end looked so much like the laminate cutters advertised. It worked just fine. I needed to trim a 1.5″ strip off of 5×12 sheet and it did fine. I did notice on a practice with the old laminate that there was some chip out so I cut with the back side up, and it was just fine.
I finished up the rest of the cutting with my Festool circular saw using the guide rail and I do not think I could have cut it any straighter and it certainly would have been a lot harder on the cab saw.

I saw your thread way back when you posted it (Nov. 12) & it really didn't hit me as to what you were talking about, until now. This past Thursday I bought a new laminate slitter for around $100.00 works great. 20 feet away on the top shelf I also have a alum. coil slitter for my Tapco brake press.
Is there a such thing of just having to many tools?
NAH didn't think so.

I may have to change my opinion about too many tools, especially when they lead me to spend so many extra hours using them. I bought an airless sprayer on e-bay and now I am painting too many houses after teaching school all day. I am just about finishing another one and frankly, I am worn out. At least I have to be careful of what tools I buy...maybe that is the trouble.
